My client is a Top International Company operating in the Construction and Engineering Sector in South Africa, with their Head Offices based in the USA and Europe. 

They need an experienced, young and dynamic, IT Support Analyst for Operations, to join their team rather urgently. 

About This Position:

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of global multi-cultural organisations and to working within a large virtualized team as part of a matrix support organisation.

This position will report directly to the Regional Site Support Manager for the Italy, GALP and MEA, within the End User Services (EUS) global support organisation, which is part of Infrastructure Services.

Job Specifications:

  • Provide high quality end-user support using a variety of methods including desk-side, remote control tools, telephone and email
  • Build, deploy and support PC hardware running Windows operating systems 
  • Troubleshoot desktop applications, printers, workstations, laptops and peripherals
  • Accurately log and document work history on all tickets
  • Provide cross site and cross regional remote support to other business units as required
  • Prepared for occasional travel to other countries/locations as needed to support the business
  • Effectively manage problems through to resolution, and undertake root cause analysis
  • Participate in IT related projects as required
  • Effectively manage third party supplier relationships

Candidate Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in desktop and direct end-user support
  • 5+ years experience with Windows W7/10 and Microsoft Office Suite O2016/O2013/O365
  • Good working knowledge of LAN\WAN technology experience with TCP/IP
  • Working knowledge of/exposure to IP telephony an advantage
  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory
  • Good understanding of SCCM 2012
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
  • Familiarity with VMware environments beneficial
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving ability
  • Able to work independently - must be highly self-motivated, and demonstrate initiative
  • Able to integrate and work efficiently in a team environment
  • Able to interact well with others and possess a clear understanding of customer service and support
  • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise workloads
  • BS degree in an Information Technology field an advantage
  • Microsoft certification beneficial (i.e. MCSE certification)
  • Strong customer focus with an emphasis on fast and thorough issue resolution
