Executive: Safety, Health and Environment

R1.2 - R1.3 million plus Bonus

Cape Town / West Coast

Excellent career opportunity with leading, listed FMCG Group. Report directly to the CEO of division and take control for full Safety, Health and Environment function for 3 plants.

Key Performance Areas

• Implement the SHE management, risk, compliance and sustainability strategy
• Accountable for both internal and external auditing related to SHE, risk and compliance
• Identify sustainability and SHE risks
• Undertake SHE, risk and compliance reporting
• Oversee and provide guidance to identify compliance risks or weaknesses for which the business should consider additional mitigating action, or processes and/or procedures.
• Accountable for environmental impact assessments and management systems
• Implement environmental sustainability policies and practices
• Identify stakeholders, their interest and response to their requirements and expectations
• Provide input and collaborate with Group in the development of the Group sustainability strategy and targets
• Manage the implementation of a suitable compliance monitoring plan to ensure completeness, coverage and accuracy
• Ensure the regulatory compliance non-compliance management and follow-up process is followed to enable business to effectively manage and resolve breaches
• Provide input from a compliance perspective into business projects and initiatives
• Contribute to the review of all critical business policies from a regulatory compliance perspective and make recommendations for improvement

Qualifications and Experience

• 6-10 years’ experience in a senior management role operating at a Group level
• Relevant tertiary degree (Engineering) Post graduate qualification in Environmental Management / Health and Safety / Sustainability
• Extensive knowledge of food processing facility (exposure to fishing adv)
• Relevant environmental legislation (OSH Act, COID Act, SAMSA)
