Lead PHP Developer – 6-month initial Contract – Remote Work / London

A Lead PHP Developer with strong MySQL and Rest API experience is required on a contract basis to work for a leading organisation within the digital marketing sector. The current incumbent is coming to the end of their contract in March 2021. As such a Lead Developer is required to assist with a full handover and ‘steady the ship’.

Role Responsibilities:

• Work closely alongside the current incumbent & stakeholders to provide a full handover and smooth transition.
• Assess the current architecture / code base
• Act as lead developer, providing help and mentorship to the team.
• Report any recommendations / areas that require urgent attention to the stakeholders in a prioritised list / RAG Report
• Responsible for the creation, development, review and approval of allocated Design Documentation.
• Be proactive; devise solutions to the anticipated problem

As such, the ideal candidate will have experience of working with complex back end systems; with proven experience delivering on both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Key Skills

• Lead Developer with Strong PHP & Laravel experience at Architect level
• Proven ability to lead complex projects
• Highly experienced in the writing and interfacing with REST API’s
• Hands on MySQL experience
• Knowledge of AWS design patterns (CodeCommit)
• Highly experienced in the use of Agile practices
• High quality documentation
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to communicate complex ideas and information to a range of stakeholders and the team.
• Excellent debugging and optimisation skills
• Greenfield and Brownfield Development experience

This is an urgent role for the business, with the ideal candidate starting on the 4^th January 2021. As such we have interview slots immediately available.

The contract is for an initial 6 months but could run long term or move into a permanent capacity. The role is remote working due to the current COVID pandemic but may require ad hoc travel to their central London office.
