We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate test engineer to join the Samsung Cambridge Radio firmware group. The role is to maintain and enhance the test environment used by firmware engineers to test and debug radio level embedded software for SCSC’s range of connectivity chips. The test engineer will take ownership of the testing of a major aspect of a project and will be responsible for delivering the test capabilities on a timescale agreed with the group leader. Some fault-finding and debug of radio issues using signal processing techniques will also be involved.

We are interested in candidates with excellent degrees in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with a focus on signal processing and/or embedded software testing.

Design and develop test scripts for new radio features

Test and debug complex scenarios involving radio performance using different signal processing techniques with some supervision and guidance

Develop and maintain the department’s existing automated radio test system

Constantly improve the presentation of test results to developers

Create and maintain relevant documentation following the department’s processes

Conduct peer reviews of test scripts


Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a relevant subject

Experience in using scripting languages, Python and Matlab language

Good understanding of test debug techniques

Excellent problem solving ability and tenacity in finding root cause for complex issues with focus on delivering results

Effective team player

Ability to communicate technical subjects effectively with other staff

Experience of Linux/shell environment

Experience of using revision control systems (Git preferred) and SQL


Desired Skills:

Experience of radio/baseband wireless communication technology such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth

Familiarity with gnuplotlib, SciPy, Numpy, Matplotlib or similar tools
