Job Description

At Samsung Cambridge, we create world-class Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipsets. Our technology is in smartphones and many other devices.

We're recruiting for a Test Engineer who is enthusiastic about radio communications to join our team.

The Radio team develops embedded software to optimise Wi-Fi radio performance. We work as a bridge between our analogue and digital designers and also Wi-Fi Firmware developers.

Your role is to enhance and maintain the test environment we use to test and debug radio level software for our range of connectivity chips.

You will deliver test capabilities within set timescales and will also be involved in tool development, debug and troubleshooting of radio issues.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain radio test scripts
  • Ensure tools will integrate with Jenkins
  • Maintenance of our test system
  • Develop our automated test system
  • Run tests as required and study the test results daily
  • Bring-up new radio test setups (including calibration)
  • Monitor test results and track any regressions
  • Constantly improve the presentation of test results
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Conduct peer reviews of test scripts
  • Write new tools in Python

 

Skills and experience you will need:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Great Python programming skills
  • Experience with test equipment and gathering test results
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Good team player
  • Experience in Linux or Shell

 

Skills and experience that would be helpful:

  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi standards
  • Knowledge of low level radio/baseband
  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Experience using Jenkins
  • A good understanding of test debug techniques
  • An effective technical communicator
  • Experience using Git or similar
