Job Description

Samsung Cambridge develops world class Wi-Fi and Bluetooth IP that is incorporated into multiple chipsets for smartphones, tablets and IOT devices.

We're currently recruiting for a Radio Systems Engineer to join our team.

Your role, will specify, optimise and improve the performance of our radios to ensure customer satisfaction. 

The Radio Systems team acts as the bridge between the analogue, modem and firmware components of the system. Your role with involve the evaluation and performance optimisation of the chipset’s RF performance in the lab. You will also work on the specification and modelling of the analogue circuits.

You will work alongside our radio firmware team to optimise the radio’s performance achieved with the firmware. As we co-work with teams in Korea and Denmark, expect some foreign travel.

Your responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and optimisation of the performance of radios in the lab
  • Support the firmware team in achieving this performance
  • Clear Specification of analogue RF performance.
  • Detailed modelling of aspects of radio performance
  • Reconcile performance models to lab measurement
  • Hardware debugging
  • Documentation of lab evaluations and effective communication of issues

Skills and experience you need:

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification / experience) in maths/science/ electronics
  • Experience of System Integration (Analogue, Digital & Firmware).
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • RF Measurement experience
  • Experience of Matlab and/or Cadence

Skills and experience that would be helpful:

  • Knowledge of Radio Systems
  • Experience of Digital Pre-distortion, Transmit Power Control & Transmit Calibration
  • Experience of Receiver line-up, AGC/RSSI and Rx calibration methods
  • DSP Experience
  • Verilog
